Lillian Huang is a self-taught modern calligrapher based in Nyack, New York. She picked up brush calligraphy three summers ago while living in Taiwan, with no art or design background. It started off as a creative and therapeutic outlet, however, in the last year, she felt called to create an off-line creative community to share her love for lettering in the form of workshops. Lillian hopes to share this therapeutic art form with those like herself, someone who thought art was intimidating and out of reach (it’s not!).
Are you looking for a new creative outlet or simply a relaxing activity to unwind from the week? Then this brush calligraphy workshop is for you!
Brush calligraphy is a modern form of decorative lettering that utilizes a brush pen with a flexible tip to achieve the thick and thin lines found in traditional pointed pen calligraphy.
In this introductory workshop by Lillian of Lillian Liming Design Co., you’ll learn the basics of brush calligraphy – from foundational brush strokes to forming and connecting letters. Lillian will share her tips to help you develop your own style as well as a few fun ink blending techniques to bring your lettering to life!
1 Starter Kit, including 2 brush pens, workbook/practice sheets, and a 5×7 notecard
In-class use of instructor’s personal brush pen collection
Exclusive access to Lillian’s private Facebook group where you’ll receive more tips & resources to improve your lettering!

Dave Davies of The Kinks
Date: Thursday, March 29th
Admission Prices: $44.50, $52, $68.65
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Davies is the pioneering rock guitarist who singlehandedly changed rock-n-roll with his unique writing style. Davies, who was the lead guitarist and co-founder of the legendary group the Kinks, created the first heavy metal guitar tone and riff. This revolutionary guitar sound propelled the Kinks into stardom with the global smash hits “You Really Got Me” and “All Day and All of the Night,” followed by numerous other classics over the next decades.
Davies further shaped the sound of the Kinks with his singing and guitar on songs such as “Come on Now” and the anthem “I’m Not Like Everybody Else.” Mainstream success continued with the hit Kinks Albums Low Budget and State of Confusion, as they re-attained the commercial success they previously had in America in the mid-60s.
His last album saw his return to the groundbreaking guitar sound and songwriting in the 2013 album I Will Be Me and started touring the same year.
But Davies has since worked on notable projects, solo albums, and family work
Davies released the solo album, Bug and the compilation Unfinished Business in the 1990s, some of which have been featured in films by John Carpenter and Wes Anderson and in HBO’s “The Sopranos”.
He’s also gotten the chance to work with his son Russell Davies to create the hauntingly beautiful rock electronica album, The Aschere Project. Davies is currently working with another of his sons, Martin, on their second documentary film Strangers, as well as a forthcoming solo album in addition to another album with Russ Davies – “Open Road.”
Dave will be celebrating the release of his new album “Open Road” recorded with his son Russ Davies, as well as the upcoming film “Dave Davies: Strangers” and a new solo album due for release later in the year. He will perform a set of solo hits and Kinks classics, accompanied by his accomplished band.
